Jon + Nicole | Gainesville, FL
Jon has been my best friend since I was three years old. We are literally brothers with different mothers. We played sports together, went to various schools together and eventually went to the same University to cause endless amounts of savage mayhem together. (Go Gators!) So when he started dating Nicole, I knew right away that he had met his partner-in-crime. They are a compliment to each other in every way and she helps make him a better person.
Being the awesome pair that they are, Jon and Nicole are always down for anything! With this shoot, I was trying all sorts of different ideas. At some point early on, I had mentioned that they looked like a modern day Bonnie and Clyde. That is when they started to really let loose and have fun with it. They started throwing absolute haymakers at the camera! (Gotta love happy accidents...they completely enveloped the spirits of Bonnie and Clyde.) The outcome still blows me away !
This styled engagement session was shot in Gainesville, Florida. I think one of my favorite things about the session itself, is that you would never know this took place in a major college town. We managed to escape the college aspect of Gainesville and find some really cool locations that I believe helped create that early 1930's vibe. A quiet afternoon downtown helped provide the perfect backdrop for these two.
After I had plenty of the downtown location we relocated a little west. We found a tiny wooded area with tall trees that provided the ideal location for a makeshift forest. (Or in my mind, a great place for Bonnie and Clyde to hide out.) Again, you would never know this was in the middle of residential Gainesville.
I could not be more pleased with the way this styled engagement session turned out. Jon and Nicole were absolute heroes this day and it was a total pleasure for me to work with them. UPDATE: Jon and Nicole are expecting their first child in May and I very much look forward to shooting their maternity session! Cheers to their soon-to-be third partner-in-crime!
